THE ANTI-DIET APPROACH FOR THE STRESSED OUT & FOOD FRUSTRATED

Because health isn't about following a diet, it's not even about counting calories. Most of us have a good idea what healthy food looks like... and yet, that's not what we eat. Food isn't a logical decision, and will power isn't the answer. We're busy at work, as parents, or as athletes. If you're a stress eater, an emotional eater, a food addict or just plain stuck and frustrated, there is a solution!

DIETS DON'T WORK

Food is only one part of the equation, which is why diets don't work. They fail to address the mind-body as a whole.

Our bodies are more complex than calories in, calories out.

It's time to shift gears and try something new.

SHIFT GEARS:

YOUR MIND-BODY CONNECTION

How's your energy level? Are you sleeping well? Do you have time for self-care?

Do you have an inner critic that believes you can't succeed?

The bad news: stress is messing with your health.

The good news: big changes happen with small shifts.

When you change one thing it has a ripple effect. No need to follow a strict set of rules, because life doesn't work like that. Together we will shift your plate, your body, and your mind to create sustainable change. These shifts are independent and yet intertwined. Our work starts wherever you're at, as we build your personal roadmap. Here's what you can expect to learn:

New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings - Lao Tzu

Being a dietitian for nearly a decade, I've come to learn the importance of a mind-body connection... more than I ever thought I would. While a lot of people talk about a mind-body connection, they don't talk about what do you do if there's a hole in your soul, like a broken chain. A soul can cry out for many things... food, alcohol, drugs, shopping or gambling just to name a few. It wants something to take away the pain, lighten the stress, feel better for a moment and cope with a difficult situation. I know, because I've been there.

Life's circumstances brought me so much pain, I didn't know how to deal with it. I had a hole in the soul so big and I went to some pretty far lengths to fill it. My choice was popping pills, and it seemed like a solution until I realized they were the problem. Stopping meant change, and change is hard. But through the pain and a program of recovery, I learned a lot about myself. I transformed the negative thoughts and behaviors, learned how to take action, and became a healthier, happier version of myself. Will power wasn't the answer, it was about changing the way I thought, and therefore felt. And that making this shift was the key to connect my mind and my body.

You may be wondering, what does this have to do with nutrition? Well, I've worked with scores of clients and although people come for various reasons, their ability to change is often the same... it's hard and life gets in their way. Some eat over emotions, others hold stress, and many suffer sleepless nights which morph into tired and hungry days.  Some fear change because it impacts other people in their lives, others deal with depression or anxiety. All of this affects our health and well being, whether or not weight is a concern. I've taken my life lessons, merged it with how I coach nutrition and have seen amazing success with my clients. You cannot treat the body as a vehicle for food in and exercise out. We are more complex than that. And, perhaps like me, the source of pain in your life can become your greatest gift.

Good health is more than changing what you eat, it's changing the mind. If you bring the mind, the body will follow. It's about shifting your perspective, identifying triggers, being willing to try something new, and accepting that change is scary but we can do it together one step at a time. I'd love to be a partner on your health journey. It's time to let go of anything that's not serving you so you are free to be you. Go ahead... Shift it!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Hallie Coletta,

Client

I went to Corinne for help with weight loss and general health/food confusion. She was FANTASTIC. Such a kind listener, a generous teacher and big help with my health 'journey'. She was very receptive to the kinds of foods I like to eat so I didn't have to switch my whole world around in order to lose some weight. It was a logical, gentle and intelligent road to better health. I would 100% recommend Corinne as a nutritionist/dietician. She knows her stuff and is lovely to work with.

Steve H.

Client

I had been participating in endurance events, triathlons, and marathons for a few years with less than stellar results. Corinne's advice and guidance with respect to everyday nutrition and race fueling strategies changed everything.  With Corinne in my corner, I lost weight and gained much more energy. I completed the New York City Marathon as well as a full Ironman in Lake Placid, to name just a few.  Just as importantly, I now have great energy and focus throughout my day. Thank You Corinne!
